A high place of Nice's gourmet delights

It overlooks the Lympia harbour, a stone's throw from Garibaldi's birthplace, and backs onto the green hill of the Castle.

It opened its doors in 1974 after the purchase of the former Florian chocolate factory in Nice, created in the 19th century and of which Matisse was a regular. At that time, boats from Africa disembarked the precious cocoa beans in the port and the surrounding streets were filled with the scent of cocoa beans at roasting time.

The Confiserie du Vieux Nice, renovated in 1994, is the city's showcase of the Pont-du-Loup mother house. Same spirit, same flavours, same specialities. You will find candied tangerines and the range of candied fruits of Florian, apricots, angelica, pineapple, cherries, peaches, pears, plums and candied melons, as well as crystallized flowers, chocolate candied orangettes, cocoa almonds, flowers jam, citrus jams...

This clear and modern shop offers tastings and visits to follow the different stages of production of the sweet specialities.

In the chocolate workshop, the inside of the house chocolates (pralines, almond paste, feuilletines) are made before being covered with a thin layer of dark, milk or white chocolate.

In the second workshop, the candied clementines are glazed.

Finally, in the last workshop, the sour sweets are made.

On the port, with its ochre and sunny decor, the Confiserie Florian has become one of the first gourmet places in Nice.

Five gourmet workshops

At the foot of the viaduct, away from the rumours of the torrent and the road that links Tourrettes to Bar-sur-Loup, there is something better: a family house with radiating rooms, 18th and 19th century Provençal furniture and production workshops where the best fruits of the Riviera are transformed, such as clementines, mandarins, lemons, bitter oranges and bergamots, as well as roses, jasmine and violets from the Grasse area.

The first workshop, where each operation requires patience and precision, is that of glazing the candied fruit.

The second workshop is that of the manufacture of jams.

The third workshop is the realm of sour sweets, whose production always lights up the eyes of the children visiting the confectionery.
Finally, there is the chocolate factory, where candied orange and lemon peels are dipped by hand, one by one, in a delicious dark or milk chocolate with hazelnut chips.
In the last room, the products are packaged in Provençal baskets - for candied fruits - or in bags for crystallized flowers, coffee beans, almonds from Provence...

In the heart of the medieval city

The first independent Florian shop since 1921, it presents all the products manufactured on the two production sites of Pont du Loup and Nice. A small jewel in the village, the shop represents the values of the Maison Florian by reconciling modernity and tradition. With its dry stone facades, it fits naturally into the landscape.

A true medieval fortress, Gourdon overlooks the Loup valley and is considered one of the most beautiful villages in France. It is thus possible to discover its Romanesque church of the XIIth century as well as its castle. Finally, it offers a breathtaking view of the Mediterranean coast, from Nice to Théoule-sur-mer.

Sweet visits

Opened in December 2016, this Florian boutique is located at 8 rue Jean Ossola, in the heart of the historic centre of Grasse.

Looking like a candy box, the shop presents, like the one in Gourdon, all the products manufactured at the two production sites in Pont-du-Loup and Nice.

Grasse, the world capital of perfume, is also nicknamed "City of Art and History". It combines flavours, scents and authenticity.

Located on the heights of Cannes, not far from Pont-du-Loup, this town is one of the most charming balconies on the French Riviera.

This bright and modern shop offers tastings and tours to follow the different stages of production of the sweet specialities.

In the chocolate workshop, the interior of the house chocolates (pralines, marzipan, feuilletines) are made before being covered with a thin layer of dark chocolate.

In the second workshop, the candied clementines are glazed.

Finally, in the last workshop, the sour candies are made.
